General Description: Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Specialist is the liasion between the Quality Assurance Group, Field Support and payroll law. A Payroll Specialist's responsibility is to perform customer service and payroll functions for internal employees. Payroll Specialists review payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with payroll policies and procedures.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Enter new hires, rehires, promotions and terminations into Peoplesoft for processing
  • Review edit reports from Peoplesoft (wage, tax, & general data)
  • Resolve discrepancies on employee's wages and taxes.
  • First resource for clarifying payroll tax questions.
  • Run On/Off cycle payroll process.
  • Research & resolve bank related issues.
  • Process requests for off cycle checks.
  • Process stop payments and voids
  • Validate outstanding checks for abandoned property


Required Education and/or Experience:
  • 2+ years Payroll Experience preferred but not required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Adaptable and able to handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Computer skills: PeopleSoft, Word, Excel,Strong organizational skills
