As an Electrical Installation Engineer, you will design complex engineering packages for DCS and PLC power generation control system replacements. You will perform site walk-downs, assist in generating scope of work documents, and the engineering cost estimates required to complete the design work. As the installation design engineer, you will have responsibility to conduct detailed field I/O verifications at site and to develop the I/O database based on the field I/O verification and the existing site drawings and documentation. This position is a part of Emerson Power & Water Solutions business and is located in our Pittsburgh, PA office. AS AN ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION ENGINEER , YOU WILL:
- Interpret and revise electrical schematic drawings.
- Supervise and mentor remote engineering center team members in the technical aspects of installation engineering
- Active involvement with other Project Engineers
- Development and document best practices and procedures related to installation design solutions
- Supervise installation sub-contractors at site during installation and commissioning activities
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, effectively
- You build and deliver solutions that meet customer expectations.
- You display a can-do attitude in good and bad times.
- You adjust communication to fit the audience and the message.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience
- Extensive background in design, implementation and testing of plant controls
- Knowledge of plant instrumentation signal varieties and field wiring
- AutoCAD or similar experience and expertise
- Comfortable traveling and working in stressful site conditions - approximately 30%
- Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this position
- Familiarity with Ovation, WDPF and other DCS and PLC manufacturers I/O and cabinet layouts.
