If you are a Marketing professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our St. Louis, Missouri location, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the business unit's marketing strategy for all channels including professional HVAC/R, retail, online and utility. The position will lead and manage product category marketing strategy along with the foundational core marketing functions including digital marketing, customer experience, communications and collateral, social media, product information management and content management. Working closely with multiple functional areas, this person will focus on connecting with our customers, users, influencers, and specifiers to ensure multi-channel success and appropriate messaging and reach throughout the customer journey. AS A DIRECTOR OF MARKETING, YOU WILL: 


  • Collaborate with product leaders, sales teams, channel influencers, and executives to identify, develop and execute the marketing strategy for the business
  • Interact with contractors, homeowners, end users and distributors to get clear voice of the customer feedback and develop appropriate programs that incorporate proper messaging
  • Lead a team of marketing professionals in the areas of communications: digital marketing, social media, website, and product information management. This team will include local employees, global service center employees and outside agencies
  • Key deliverables will include setting the strategy for success in all channels for the business unit’s products and solutions including developing content and messaging, digital and print literature, advertising, PR copy and training material
  • Social media content and evaluation of the business unit's effective use of digital platforms
  • Lead the development and execution of CRM and other digital tools as well as future website platforms
  • Leadership role in representing the business through participation in industry associations as necessary
  • Research, monitor and communicate market dynamics such as segment growth opportunities, trends in channels, technology and competitive positioning
  • Analyze and prioritize opportunities based on market potential, customer feedback, feasibility/usability and return on investment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • A BS degree in business, engineering or related field
  • Knowledge of marketing dynamics as they apply to a technical manufacturing operation. 
  • Proven managerial skills in dealing with several product lines and experience leading team members 
  • Minimum of 7 years marketing, product management or related work experience
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written 
  • Highly skilled in developing and delivering presentations to a wide variety of audiences 
  • Proven ability to develop successful business plans in a B2B / B2C environment
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Legal work authorization in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

  • MBA degree
  • 10 years of marketing, product management or related work experience
  • Working knowledge of the markets, products, customers, and competitors in the HVAC/R industry 

Schedule
We offer the flexibility of a core hour work schedule Monday - Friday.  Employees can flex their start and stop times given they are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm.  Our teams work together to ensure their chosen work schedules are supporting our customers.  We are piloting a new remote work policy which allows eligible U.S. employees the option to work remotely up to three days per week.
