Job Purpose:
To provide support for Systems Management
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under supervision of Senior System Administrator:
- Maintains, operates and integrates operating systems, software and virtual hardware products
- Installs, maintains and secures Windows Servers
- Responsible for resolving complex service problems; performing expert maintenance; and installing, configuring and testing all types of data communications equipment and services
- Maintains and secures network and system boundary
- Reviews system logs and system performance metrics daily.
- Provides analysis of problems and provides solutions for a wide range of operational and support requirements to meet customer needs
- Maintains data network equipment and services to ensure working order and demand availability by performing scheduled, routine on-line tests and by checking, adjusting, or replacing equipment to established standards
- Prepares communications equipment for installation by testing, calibrating, or modifying equipment as required
- Maintains configuration and installation documentation of the various hardware and software solutions
- Installs and test various communications equipment and services to specified configurations and ensures proper working order for new or updated network service
- Develops and implements standard operating procedures to maintain and improve system performance
- Recommend methods and technologies to improve overall operations
- Other duties as required.
Job Requirements
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with administration of Windows Server 2008 r2
- Familiarity with administration of Microsoft SQLServer 2008 r2
- Familiarity with administration of Microsoft SQLServer 2012
- Familiarity with Active Directory and Group Policy
Qualifications
Position requires 3+ years of experience in Systems Administration, Systems Engineering or related fields. BS degree in Computer Science or related discipline fields, preferred. Certifications in MCSA, MCSE, and MCITP preferred. Security+ is required. Active SECRET security clearance is required; Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 25 lbs.
