Job Grade: Supervisor/Analytical (I3) 

Business Unit: Assembly and Diversified 

Hiring Manager: Todd Thater 

Role Purpose:

Designs Dry manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, Standards, processing, machining, and material handling.  Flexible Foam and Lamination; Technical Products; Engineered Composites; SMED Formed Plastics – Dry processes. 


Responsibilities:


  • Develop/Implement systems and schedules to maximize manufacturing capacity/uptime. 

  • Provide manufacturing engineering services to site, including equipment, building and facility maintenance.

  • Provide overall direction, training, and supervision to outside suppliers via routines and procedures.

  • Foster a highly interactive and interdependent problem-solving climate among all salaried and hourly associates.

  • Plan, budget, schedule, and co-ordinate capital projects.

  • Drive continuous improvement projects.

  • Assist in build events, design reviews, and station layouts, among other responsibilities.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering coupled with five years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent.

  • Experience working with Design for Manufacturability and Assembly, Lean Manufacturing, and the Assembly Planning Process

  • Strong understanding of SMED

  • Must have strong project management skills coupled with good organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Experienced in managing technical contractors

  • Good technical knowledge including applicable engineering principles and codes, safety, and environmental requirements, and other related legislation.

  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Access)

  • Ability to work effectively with CAD/CAM systems.

  • Capable of reading blueprints and schematics

  • Ability to effectively communicate and present to all levels internally and externally

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, Kaizen

  • Travel Required 10% plus.
