This position supports the work of the Y, a leading charity committed to strengthening community. Develops, coordinates and instructs group classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that welcomes people of all skill and fitness levels. Effectively builds community within the class. Modifies class as needed to meet varied health, ability and cultural needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
AA/BS in Physical Ed., Recreation, Sports Mgt., OR a related field OR equivalent experience preferred.
CPR, First Aid, AED, and national certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA, and NASM) in group wellness instruction OR YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification required.
Valid certification in areas of expertise (Spinning, Zumba, etc.).
YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire
