Summary of Job Duties:

The Director of Employer Relations will be an employee of the University Career Development Center (CDC) and a full-time liaison to the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences (Bumpers College). The Director will develop and implement strategies designed to increase employment opportunities for Bumpers College graduate and undergraduate students and recent alumni. The Director will coordinate employer recruiting on campus including scheduling employer speakers in the classrooms, and employer information sessions. The Director will also facilitate seminars, industry tours and trainings for faculty and students to increase awareness of employment opportunities and build relationships with industry. The Director will be a co-report to and be evaluated by the Executive Director of the CDC and the Dean of Bumpers College. Bumpers College will provide the Director with workspace and office equipment. The space will be connected to Student Services within Bumpers College Waldrip Student Center. The position is funded, and administrative support is provided by the CDC and Bumpers College.



Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher education


  • At least five years of full-time, professional work experience in a career center or counseling, higher education administration, human resources, business/corporate or employer relations, marketing/external relations, university advancement/development, or a field that closely aligns with the objectives of the position


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's Degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher education


  • At least five years of full-time professional work experience in a career center or counseling, higher education administration, business/corporate or employer relations, human resources, marketing/external relations, university advancement/development, or a field that closely aligns with the objectives of the position


  • Experiencein community relations, industry partnerships, or other similar experience


  • Experience using a variety of professional strategies such as cold calling to identify and develop relationships with potential and existing employers and partners


  • Experience working with Handshake or similar Career Services Management software


  • Experience coordinating and executing large events such as career fairs, webinars, or similar events


  • Experience developing and utilizing marketing strategies to promote services and upcoming events to potential and current employers, students, faculty, or other constituents


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:


  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite


  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships and regular communication with employers


  • Ability to effectively establish rapport, understand corporate and community organization's needs, present information, and respond to questions


  • Ability to work with a diverse constituency at all levels of the organization


  • Ability to travel frequently in and out of state to meet with employers and other relevant partners to identify their hiring needs


  • Ability to set and exceed goals


  • Ability to submit timely and accurate reports



Salary Information:

$70,000
