We are seeking an exceptional, Experienced Environmental Engineer with at least 7 years of related experience to help grow our site investigation and remediation practice in Portland, Oregon or Seattle, Washington. This position is well-suited for a talented, experienced individual who is interested in becoming a leader and contributing to innovative and challenging projects for a diverse mix of industrial, institutional, and governmental clients. Project work includes contaminated sediment, soil, and groundwater investigations and remediation, field and project management, financial and technical evaluations, and design, permitting, and managing construction stages of remediation projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;

  • Developing and implementing site assessment and remediation work plans, sampling and analysis plans, quality assurance project plans, and health and safety plans;

  • Assembling construction documents, including engineering drawings and technical specifications;

  • Sediment, soil, groundwater, and surface water remedy evaluations, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;

  • Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures;

  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;

  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; and

  • Fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction.


Here are some other things you should know about this position:




  • Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including technical conferences, in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.


  • Fieldwork: Up to 30%


  • Overnight travel: Up to 30%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE



  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, water resources, or chemical engineering. (required)

  • Advanced degree in geology or environmental engineering. (preferred)

  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E.) (required)


SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS



  • At least 7 years of experience in an environmental consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)

  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)

  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental investigations and clean up. (preferred)

  • Project experience involving environmental regulatory compliance, historical research, and environmental assessment. (preferred)

  • Experience working on soil and groundwater remediation projects in the Pacific Northwest. (preferred)

  • Experience with construction design drawings. (preferred)

  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)

  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
