Overview

This is a full-time career opportunity that can be based out of multiple locations throughout our 5 state footprint (PA, NJ, DE, MD, VA).

Promotes a culture of compliance within the organization. Responsible to execute the processes, procedures, and workflows that support effective and efficient operation of the enterprise compliance program. Exercises independent judgment on standard, moderately complex, substantive consumer compliance topics and compliance risk management activities.

Responsibilities

    Develops and performs individual work plans to ensure comprehensive and effective execution of the enterprise compliance program. Consults with departments to perform compliance testing. Performs and documents compliance risk assessments, monitoring and testing, artifact and marketing reviews, complaint analysis, and other compliance risk analysis. Investigates and identifies root causes of potential compliance risk including consumer harm, and then verifies performance of corrective actions. Consults with, advises, and offers credible challenges related to risk assessments and compliance monitoring activities including compliance training needs, content, and audiences.
  • Collaborates, cooperates, and consults with staff, management, external examiners, and auditors to ensure appropriate subject matter coverage of business activities. Builds and maintains relationships while maintaining appropriate levels of independence and objectivity. Collects information for and consults with internal audit or examiners during compliance-related audits or examinations. Participates in efforts to discover, scope, or execute processes to remediate compliance risk events including consumer harm.

  • Maintains current regulatory compliance expertise to remain knowledgeable of changes in applicable laws and regulations. Develops and delivers reporting of changes to the compliance department management, the first line of defense management, senior management, and the board of directors. Advises the first line of defense on the requirements and impacts of these changes, and then oversees efforts to adapt to changes in a timely and effective manner. Keep superiors and peers informed of the status of work and escalate matters as necessary. Drafts and prepares reports.

  • Participates in internal compliance department and corporate initiatives. Serves as a role model of integrity and compliance within the department while mentoring employees in lower level roles.

Qualifications

Required Education

Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience. Specialty: Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or other relevant degree

Required Experience

5 or more years Risk, Compliance, Audit, or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience

1 or more years Public accounting, auditing, or legal experience within a highly regulated industry, designing and implementing operational controls to achieve regulatory compliance and business objectives preferred

Previous project management experience

Previous experience in Special Assets

Preferred Certifications

Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager

This role may perform other job duties as assigned by the manager. This includes but is not limited to, understanding and identifying compliance risks impacting their department(s), ensuring compliance with applicable laws or regulations, and escalating compliance risks to the appropriate level of management.
