DESKTOPADMINISTRATOR
Position Summary:
The candidate will provide Windows Desktop System Administration support to NSWC Crane in the Crane, Indiana area. Support includes but not limited configuration, deployment, and operation & maintenance of Windows Desktop operating systems in a VDI Infrastructure.
Contract Specifications:
Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance
Must be IAT Level II compliant (Security+, CISSP, etc.)
Some positions may require an industry Windows Desktop Administration certification
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Provide Operations and Maintenance support to include applicable Cybersecurity services for VDI infrastructure for desktop presentation in single or multi-level security environments.
Perform workstation, server, network and application scanning to determine vulnerability risks that may exist.
Review and identify known risks according to Cyber Security requirements and mitigate known risks acceptable levels as determined by the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to reduce the likelihood of risk to system.
Support the design, development and integration of software/hardware based solutions.
Install software applications that provide or enhance the security of individual platforms, systems and/or networks.
Conduct analyses and record findings on current patch compliance status of RDT&E computers for use in the Assessment & Authorization process.
Apply appropriate updates to RDT&E systems as required to maintain CS compliance in accordance with DOD directives.
Support government personal in the documentation and information removal of hard drive, tape, and optical disc in accordance with local and DOD policy to enhance the data integrity of RDT&E. No destruction of government property will be performed by contractor personnel. Property that requires destruction will be sent to DRMO.
Provide hardware and software support for RDT&E network Virtual Desktop Infrastructure devices, applications and printers to ensure that operability requirements are up to date and that the devices meet cybersecurity hardware configuration requirements.
Install and administer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
Manage computer accounts, privileges and system access.
Manage system resources in the monitoring of performance, capacity, availability, serviceability and recoverability.
Manage the Virtual Storage Area Network (VSAN) hardware.
Ensure system availability, functionality, integrity and efficiency, and maintain system configuration and documentation.
Provide IT support services for current and emerging technologies.
Configure and implement CS Assessment & Authorization security controls in accordance with local and DOD procedures.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other Technical discipline required
Five (5) years of full-time professional experience with the configuration, deployment, and operation and maintenance of Microsoft Desktop operating systems.
Physical Demands and Expectations:
Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 15 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
