The team
Our Finance team plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, optimal financial management, and efficient operations across DocuSign. The team consists of Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Revenue Operations, Investor Relations, and Business Operations. The Finance team partners across all organizations in DocuSign to appropriately allocate resources, inform key business decisions, and facilitate the execution of our operational plans.


This position
As a Financing Reporting and Technical Accounting Lead you have in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, proficiency in accounting research, and strong motivation to contribute to the achievement of an accurate and efficient close and financial reporting process. You pay great attention to detail, deliver results under deadlines and work effectively cross-functionally in a rapidly changing environment.


This position reports to the Senior Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager.


Responsibilities



  • Lead end-to-end planning and preparation of financial filings such as 10-Q/K and earnings releases

  • Work cross-functionally with investor relations, legal, finance, internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with SEC reporting requirements and to support the business' needs

  • Take ownership of equity and stock-based compensation related accounting, including evaluation of technical accounting aspects of equity grants and modifications

  • Own the new ASU and non-routine transactions trackers

  • Assist in the annual update of corporate accounting policies and disclosure benchmarking

  • Participate in other special projects and analyses as needed

  • Focus areas: ASC 718 stock-based compensation, ASC 32X investments, and ASC 805 business combination

    Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with a CPA or equivalent

  • At least 7+ years of related work experience or 5+ with Big 4 or equivalent experience

  • Thorough understanding of GAAP along with problem-solving skills to deal with complex, ambiguous transactions

  • Meticulous attention to detail with superb project management skills

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • High degree of analytical and problem-solving capability

  • Strong desire to learn and grow

  • Ability to work independently and balance multiple responsibilities simultaneously

  • Experience in a public/SaaS technology company and with SOX compliance

  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization

  • Experience working with NetSuite or Oracle
