Main position objectives

The Water Spider (Material Handler) main job is to make sure that materials are supplied to where they are needed. As a material replenishment position, the Water Spider must be intimate with the processes and people they are supporting to fully understand the needs. The goal with this position is to maintain the continuous flow of materials needed between the warehouse and the manufacturing areas. Keeping all workstations stocked with materials, thus controlling the continuous flow of productivity.

Position description - Tasks, Responsibilities, Competencies (List 8-10 specific tasks - start each description indicating an action e.g. leads, advises, develops etc.)

* Print and review production orders. In a timely manner pull and deliver material/parts to the production floor:

- Point-of-use (Delivery)

- Cell locations (Stocking)

- Cutting and displaying cartons/boxes/bins for direct production use

- Removal of empty bins and dunnage, including scrap

* Responsible for the Kanban cards and process in designated areas.

* Responsible to issuing parts to production orders

* Maintain parts shortages and outages reporting in all areas and communicates information with Purchasing.

* Responsible for unloading and staging deliveries and receiving in the system as necessary.

* Responsible for pulling samples for Quality Assurance as needed, as well as taking them to and from the lab

and getting them to point-of-use.

* Accountable for inventory accuracy of parts received from production and all materials warehouse locations.

* Perform cycle counts as requested.

* Responsible to use FIFO material handling (First In First Out).

* Maintain and apply 5S and Lean concepts in designated areas.

* Work extra hours when needed.

* Other duties as needed.

Job Specification

Education (area of studies, Management, IT etc.)

Mandatory

High School Diploma or GED required

Desirable

Prefer lean implementer certification

Professional experience (description incl. No. of years)

Mandatory

* Must be able to obtain a tow motor license and operate all tow motors within the plant.

* Proficient in math skills and scale operations.

Desirable

* SAP experience

* Experience in an inventory control or process flow of a manufacturing environment preferred.

* Proficient in using a computer and data-based systems preferred.
