Job Details:

Job Summary: Ensures that the operations with Cubic systems are run at optimal performance levels. Responsible for all back-end settlement transactions and the reporting associated with these tasks. This position typically works under minimal supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for timely and accurate settlement of high volume of transactions on a daily basis.

  • Ensures proper functioning of data transfers between various system interfaces; Microsoft Dynamics, our external credit card processor and settlement banks

  • Daily reconciliation of directed funds movements with actual results reported.

  • Assist the Settlement Gap Analyst as the liaison and point of contact between IT and assigned complex functional business area for significant software development and enhancement projects.

  • Create detailed documentation of functional, system (non-functional), user and reporting requirements that may include but is not limited to use cases samples; process flow diagrams; report specifications, data mapping, and flow diagrams for department reporting.

  • Coordinate status meetings and produces progress reports when assigned to a project.

  • Some data entry involving processing debit/credit transactions.

  • Analyzes charge backs and follow up with credit card issuers.

  • Ability to work with a high attention to detail, while under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Responsible for reconciliation of various clearing and settlement General Ledger accounts at month end and standard or ad hoc requests for reports on clearing and settlement activity.

  • Produces specifications for custom-made reports and works with the Reports Developer and Database Administrator in automating the provision of customer and business reporting.

  • Ensures accuracy and timeliness in the provision and availability of financial information.

  • Provides training on report writing tools to users.

  • Provides analysis and support for complex system & financial issues.

  • Provides support and training for Settlement Accountant staff

  • Determines the optimum process for settlement and associated clearing functions to give best solutions to the customer.

  • Identifies appropriate metrics to measure process efficiency and accuracy.

  • Streamlines exception management processes to track and settlement trans\action gaps occurring in the system.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Four year college degree in accounting or finance-related field required, plus six years' experience with either settlement of funds or as a Business Analyst. Strong Excel skills. Solid accounting background. Knowledge of Electronic Funds Movement. Previous experience building databases using enterprise software. Organized, flexible and the ability to deal with rapid change as required. Positive attitude, Self-motivated and a fast learner. Analytical with problem-solving skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Understands the need for and consistently practices effective teamwork with others. Proven ability to monitor and implement projects in timely and cost effective methods required.
