Job Purpose


Reporting to the Technical Product Support Manger the Warranty Lab Product Analyst is responsible for testing and analysis of EnerSys product returned from the field under guidance of experienced engineering staff. Responsibilities will include receiving and auditing product returned for analysis (RFA), analyzing results/data internally generated and externally provided, disassembly of product and determination of root cause failure mode as directed by the supervisor. Development of analysis plans, documentation of testing and observations, generation of data, reports, and recommended solutions to identified product issues is expected. Timely communication of findings, through report and quality alert where necessary are the essential output.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Receive RFA product, notify requestors as required.

  • Maintain return status tracking to communicate as necessary.

  • Record product details throughout analysis process with photos and written documentation.

  • Determine product condition and performance through testing and physical evaluation.

  • Develop 2V Cell, bloc (multiple cells) and battery (multiple bloc) disassembly and teardown expertise.

  • Ensure lab and equipment are safe, clean, well maintained and current in calibration.

  • Safely operate various hand and power tools during the analysis process.

  • Generate summary report of findings for each returned product.

  • Maintain/contribute to databases of returned product communications and relevant product and application data.

  • Other responsibilities as required


Qualifications


Minimum


  • AS in Engineering/Science, or related field OR 2+ years similar on the job experience

Preferred


  • AS degree in Engineering/Science or equivalent combination of education and specifically related work experience with 2 to 4 years of experience in battery manufacturing


  • Basic knowledge of the design and operation of lead acid batteries.

  • Working knowledge of the assembly techniques utilized in lead acid batteries, electronic, electrical, industrial and mechanical engineering.

  • High degree of flexibility and motivation; Must be able to organize parallel and multiple tasks.

  • Requires ability to work amongst numerous departments internally.

  • Must establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to communicate with supervisors, coworkers and others.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Teams)


General Job Requirements



  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.

  • This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.

  • Risk of electrical shock.
