The Associate Line Technician, performs a wide variety of tasks to prepare and ensure the efficient operation of production packaging line equipment. This position plays a key line ownership role in the proper set-up, servicing, troubleshooting, changing out of equipment and related components. It requires knowledge of all production equipment and the ability to train others within the facility. It also requires the flexibility to rotate into various other positions when needed.
Team members in this position are required to maintain knowledge of the process flow, computerized equipment and be aware of hazards associated with the process as well as understand and execute standard operating procedures.
Ability to operate all packaging line equipment.
Work with/Learn from Area Maintenance personnel to develop in-depth equipment knowledge
Monitor line operations, troubleshoot equipment as necessary to minimize machine downtime, and maximize line output.
Learn to optimize line speeds at various points to create smooth, consistent bottle flow rate
Line operation observations – implement “approved” Continuous Improvement ideas
Clean, PM, Inspect and Maintain production line equipment
Monitor specific change parts for wear, replace as necessary
Complete rapid change outs of equipment to minimize equipment downtown and ensure quality production in a fast-paced, growing environment
Document activities in eMaint or equivalent CMMS asset management system
Ensure equipment clearances with quality control before start of processing.
Follow safety procedures at all times. Report any unsafe acts or conditions.
Certify in and follow all GMPs and written SOPs, perform online training on-time.
Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety rules and regulations
Follow Lock-Out/Tag-Out and Arc Flash safety protocols
Ability to operate production equipment to Herbalife’s specifications
Ability to learn from others, as well as instruct and train others
Good math skills to compute yields, variances and troubleshoot
Ability to interface with machine, controls and computers
Ability to speak, read, and write in the English language
Problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or other regulatory experience
Experience using High Speed Packaging line equipment, and/or Blending equipment, Batching operation systems
Prefer 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment as a set-up / changeover technician and at least 6 months at Herbalife
Food manufacturing or packaging experience a plus
