BlueWater Federal's team at Hanscom Air Force Base supports the mission needs of 66th Air Base Group providing efficient service delivery for critical infrastructure needs and capabilities to include Network, Voice, Server, Storage, SharePoint and Web. We are looking for Voice Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities
Will work with a team of UC engineers and will be responsible for designing, managing, and implementing voice solutions as per Air Force enterprise standards in support of 66 ABG/SC and their customers under Core Services
Will assist in planning of voice environments for internal customers, develop and review procedures for voice platform in relation to capacity planning, performance, reliability, and security
Monitors and responds to complex technical hardware and software problems. Interfaces with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded systems performance
Install, upgrade, operate, maintain, and configure all equipment/firmware/software required to ensure availability of all identified voice services in accordance with AF certification and accreditation and information assurance standards
Provide technical project management support with the development of Voice solution analysis, creation of documentation and tracking progress from initiation through implementation
Work dynamically and effectively with people on projects (formal and informal) and conduct technical interchanges as required; responsibilities include collaborative reporting, planning, and interactions with leads as well as with company and subcontracted team members and management structures, as well as highly focused subject matter experts
Will use skills and experience as well as tools and technology to design, install, configure, and troubleshoot voice infrastructure and provide customer support for voice related services
Will have extensive hands-on experience in designing enterprise telephony solutions that will increase performance and flexibility to existing converged Gigabit Ethernet network infrastructure in accordance with Air Force UC policies and standards
Interfaces with distributed organizational Telephone Control Officers, conducting and attending planning meetings, reviewing existing and projected voice line counts and assignments, surveying communication room and telephony backboard terminations and cross-connects & creation and updates of notional voice line cut-sheets for engineering capacity planning and processing detailed cut sheets
Qualifications
S. graduate in Information Technology, mathematics, or computer science or equivalent plus 8-12 years' experience in a Unified Communications Engineering role. An additional 4 years' experience may substitute for the degree
Demonstrated 2-5 years' experience in project management is needed
In-depth experience troubleshooting SIP-based sessions across internal, service provider & external networks
Prior experience in USAF/ANG/ARC SCX "Plans and Programs" shops, and or "Engineering Installation project design and execution" experience strongly desired
Strong network debugging and troubleshooting skills required; Create and maintain operational procedures, topology maps using Visio
Must have firm understanding and experience with Windows servers and Linux based operating systems or appliances
Ability to use packet capture and protocol analysis tools and techniques
Strong working knowledge of associated telephony/VoIP standards and protocols such as SIP and H.323 is required
Supports emergency operations on an as needed basis 24/7 & weekend work maybe required as project or issues warrant
Working knowledge of VMWare/W2K12/W2K16/IIS is an added plus
Strong working knowledge of Telecom, including ISDN/T-1, Voice Protection Systems, and IP address Management/DHCP, DNS
Voice (Avaya AS5300, Cisco) certification or any other relevant voice certifications an added plus
CompTIA Security + certification required
Secret Level DoD Security Clearance required
