Position Snapshot
Environmental Technicians provides a range of tasks associated with emergency response, hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, industrial cleaning, decontamination of equipment and handling of hazardous materials.
Day in the Life After grabbing your favorite morning beverage, you can expect to:
Enters confined spaces to clean interior of tanks, railcars, tanker trucks, trenches, drains, oil/water separators, boilers, etc. to remove liquids, solids and residue utilizing different methods such as scraping, scrubbing, sweeping, mopping, squeegees, and shoveling.
Performs physical labor associated with cleanup and remediation activities such as sample collection, drum pumping, drum handling, waste bulking, and hand and mechanical demolition.
Responds to customer spills and emergencies during normal business hours and after hours.
Performs inspections on containers, and collection areas, and ensure all is in compliance, labeled and sealed properly.
Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
Operates light and heavy equipment including, but not limited to pumps, pressure washers, generators, electric pallet jack, forklift, bobcats, vacuum truck, etc.
Relevant experience in the environmental industry preferred
Valid driver's license
Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening
Comfort wearing a respirator if needed.
