Position Summary

The Process Engineer position is responsible for engineering activities to develop processes, define controls, and institute effective variability reduction efforts in manufacturing areas.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop processes, define controls, and institute effective variability reduction efforts in designated manufacturing areas


• Trains, tests, and certifies operators and maintains accurate records of certification of special process


• Perform regular audits to ensure procedures are being followed on the manufacturing floor


• Update/revise area procedures to ensure clarity and reduce the opportunity for process variation


• Perform data analysis to identify and control process excursions


• Continuously evaluations/improves processes in order to maintain or improve upon budgeted yields.


• Perform engineering trials to evaluate improvements to processes, tools, and equipment


• Participates in cost reduction, continuous improvement and new part introduction (NPI) teams, as needed


• Drive process and improvement initiatives


• Continuously improves processes to reduce scrap


• Initiate and interface with all levels of manufacturing, management, suppliers and customers.


• Provide hands on, floor level investigations and problem solving


• Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Materials or other related Engineering discipline.


• 4-6 years of hands-on weld experience, aluminum, steel and titanium highly preferred.


• Hands-on experience in the investment casting industry a plus

Required Skills

• Must have strong Microsoft Excel and generic MRP experience.


• Broad knowledge of the specialized field of production control plus related knowledge of accounting and procurement practices


• Must have a solid understanding of data processing as it relates to production control applications.


• Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of employees, management, vendors, and customers.
