Summary of Job Duties:

The Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy will teach graduate courses; conduct research that results in refereed publications and professional presentations; pursue external funding through grant proposal submissions; direct students' independent research and capstone projects, advise graduate students, chair/serve on doctoral committees, participate in public/professional service, and engage in service activities at the program, department, college, and university levels. Additionally, this position may help to establish a research-centered practice for the purpose of serving members of the community, training students, and collaboration with other disciplines.



Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Doctoral degree from a nationally recognized and accredited institution conferred by start ofappointment


  • Demonstrated commitment to an active research agenda as evidenced by publications, presentations, and fundingactivity


  • At least three years of clinical experience OR at least one year of clinical experience with post-doctoral training


  • At leasttwoyearsteachingin a higher educationsetting


  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills and theabilityand willingnessto work in a team settingand collaborate to integrate coursecontent


  • Demonstrated ability to promotes professionalism by modeling such behaviors inside and outside the classroomsettings


Required License:

  • Health professionals must be licensed/eligible for Arkansas professionallicense


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated significantdiversity-related contributions to teaching, research, and service


  • At least five years of clinical experience


  • At least three years of experience as a full-timegraduatefaculty with teaching responsibilities


  • Expertise in anatomy, neuroscience,mental health,occupational science, evidence-based practice,SoTL,health policy, research, occupational therapy intervention


  • Experience in innovative or community-based practice research


  • Grant funding of scholarly work experience
