Position Summary
The Assistant Controller is responsible for supporting the total accounting function for the business unit, which includes leading and managing the accounting team and managing the accounting and financial process in order to ensure processes and procedures are in accordance with corporate, division and legislative requirements. This is a leadership position, with a strong emphasis on general and cost accounting, working in a dynamic work environment handling multiple priorities while driving process improvements.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Complies with and supports PCC Code of Conduct Requirements and Company policies and procedures, as well as Federal, State and Local regulations.
Ensures a safe, productive and pleasant working environment for employees.
Establish and maintain systems and controls, which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data including complying with the requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley Act and all financial regulatory requirements.
Oversee the activities of the Accounting Department to ensure the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports and information (e.g. Daily Flex, Variable Expense Reports, KPIs, Budgets, Forecasts, Month End Statistics, Inventory estimates, Intercompany Product Transfers, and other ad hoc reporting as required)
Prepares balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.
Manage and perform the full-cycle Accounts Receivable process including posting payments to customer accounts, entering credit memos and adjustments, contacting customers on past-due payments, and reconciling the Accounts Receivable aging reports to meet or exceed company standards.
Review, analyze, and reconcile GL accounts including payables, receivables, cash, pre-paid, fixed assets, and accrued liabilities.
Support accurate and timely month-end close process.
Prepare reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present and expected operations.
Perform financial analysis projects as requested by local, division and corporate management.
Advise management on matters that effect P&L and KPIs, such as effective use of resources and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
Aid organization with financial functions, such as assessing, auditing, planning, budgeting, taxes, consolidation, cost control, and project control.
Assist in evaluating and analyzing plant capital proposals, capital expenditures, depreciation, investment opportunities, rate of return, profit plans, operating records, financial statements, etc.
Analyze records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred to project future revenues and expenses.
Calculate Inventory Estimates using Inflow and Outflow reports.
Conduct, lead, and/or participate in audits as required (e.g. SOX).
Act as subject matter expert for management on financial policies, procedures, and applications; ensuring adherence to accounting and auditing policies and procedures.
Effectively lead department staff by coaching, developing, communicating, delegating, and holding staff accountable. Create a team oriented environment which motivates staff and keeps employees engaged in their jobs and the Company.

Understanding of Financial Accounting Standards (FAS)
Working knowledge of Cost Accounting (i.e. Bill of Materials (BOM), work orders, and standard costing)
Demonstrated leadership experience with ability to delegate, mentor, lead, and develop direct reports
Experience interpreting financials. Ex: understanding and interpreting Key Performance Indicators, trends, simulations.
Demonstrated experience with identifying and driving process improvements
Excellent communication & collaboration skills to interact with high-level business leaders to provide results, interpret results and drive the business performance forward.
