Senior Project Engineer
Responsible for providing technical engineering support to all aspects of the business unit including, but not limited to, manufacturing, production, quality, purchasing, sales and marketing for current products.Responsible for the technical content of new product development/application projects from quotation through customer start-up.

In this position, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Determine optimum technical approach and solutions to meet customer specifications
Make engineering-based decisions to meet project goals and objectives
Responsible for all technical aspects of the assigned product/project
Provide information and guidance to Design/Drafting group to complete all required drawings and responsibility for approval
Lead the development, release, and maintenance of internal product/project documents (BOM's and item masters)
Responsible for customer submittals and deliverables (i.e. - analytical reports, test procedures/reports, system schematics, etc.)
Assist Manufacturing with disposition of NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), design changes, assembly issues, etc.
Basic qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering, or an equivalent degree. An advanced engineering degree is preferred.
Eight plus years of experience working in a manufacturing organization that produces highly engineered capital equipment in commercial power, marine and industrial applications. Minimum five years of engine design/development or application experience is preferred.
Experience and thorough understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes
Strong background in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) ASME Y-14.5
Knowledgeable with materials, material specifications, properties and heat treatment, etc.
Familiarity with Codes written by ASME, ASTM, AWS, ABS, etc.
Occasional travel is required
Preferred qualifications include:
Assist QA, Manufacturing, and Purchasing in determining root cause to quality problems and new supplier qualification. Develop solutions to identified problems.
Assist Technical Support with existing installations and programs
Assist in preparation of proposals for new engine sales or upgrade kit
Redesign and implement replacement components due to parts obsolescence, cost reduction efforts, upgraded design, etc
Performfunded Engineering studies and write reports
This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship.
