Electronic Instruments - a leader in the design and manufacture of advanced instruments for the aerospace, power, process and industrial markets.

This role is within the Instrumentation and Specialty Control's Brookfield Engineering Business unit.
Viscometers, rheometers, texture analyzers and powder flow testers used in R&D, QC and inline applications for rheological fluid analysis, tension/compression analysis and powder flow analysis. Markets include food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, personal care products, adhesives, printing inks and coatings, paper coatings, chemicals, packaging, plastics, construction materials, and asphalt.
Reporting to the Vice President Operations, oversee all daily production of machine shop, assembly, warehouse, service and repair while ensuring policies and procedures are followed. Will develop processes that will maximize supervision, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and timely shipment of high-quality products in compliance with production schedules. Participate in establishing long range manufacturing goals, and input manufacturing needs.

Conduct production meetings and review schedules with department supervisors. Evaluate schedules and efficiency and production reports, adjust schedules as may be necessary to reflect changes in priorities. Conduct monthly production review meetings with management and supervisors.

Prepare annual manufacturing budget and monitor for compliance. Recommend and economically justify the purchase of new equipment.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Daily work in collaboration with Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Planning, Sales & Marketing, Customer Service, and Human Resources personnel.

Responsible for all aspects of manufacturing processes including establishing procedures, controlling material flow, work in-process, and final packaging of each end item.

Responsible for planning, scheduling, and controlling the flow of in-house raw materials, semi-finished goods, process, and finished goods.

Working with supervisors, oversee the hiring of all production team members.

In conjunction with supervisors, monitor and evaluate team members’ work performance and job-related functions. Make requests for wage adjustments. Ensure that employees are adequately trained. Review staffing and initiate requests to add or reduce staff as required. Administer discipline and recommend actions for personnel as necessary.

Ensure that the product is built with high quality standards, with cost efficiency in mind.

Ensure that all personnel follow company guidelines and procedures.

Consistently enforce disciplinary policy.

Ensure that Supervisors monitor production team members’ activities to complete their daily assignments as required.

Conduct ergonomics studies with Manufacturing Engineering for production set-ups to ensure the most efficient, safe, and cost-effective set-ups.

Ensure that weekly production schedule is met, and that year-end inventory and cycle counts are completed accurately.

Prepare and submit to Senior Management reports of plant operations.

Utilize cost-benefit analytical techniques in improving operational efficiency.

Position Requirements:
Bachelors Degree Required

Minimum 3-year’s Operational leadership experience in a high mix low volume production environment (preferred)

Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment required with demonstrated success in continuous improvement activity.

Capabilities in the Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.

Strong communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal).

Understanding of Production scheduling

Must have the ability to direct and work effectively within a team setting.

Job Specifications (skills and experience:

Must be detail oriented, computer literate, and able to multi-task

Enthusiastic and high energy personality preferred.

Ability to work independently with the demonstrated ability to establish priorities, plan workload and establish commitments for task completion

Knowledge of and experience in a TQM environment.

Requires experience in both a manual environment as well as ERP applications (Syteline preferred)

Superior communication skills with the ability to develop and present complex data and recommendations.
