Summary of Job Duties:

The Content Strategist position is a creative idea-generator, writer, and problem-solver who organizes and communicates complex ideas to the university community. This position works with service owners and project teams to evaluate content needs, recommend content plans/architecture, and develop content strategies in support of the campus community. This role collaborates with subject matter experts and end-users to understand new or changing technology services and how they can best meet the needs of our campus. Based on needs, this position develops appropriate content and communication plans to present the message accurately and within standards.



Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education


  • At least five years of Content Strategist or related experience


Applicable equivalencies may be considered.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated experience with content and communication planning objectives


  • Demonstrated experience with a content management system, especially OmniUpdate


  • Demonstrated experience leading and supervising student employees


  • Demonstrated experience in a higher education setting


  • Demonstrated written communications and editing skills



Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:


  • Knowledge of documentation usability and user experience testing and analysis


  • Knowledge of industry best practices including SEO, accessibility, responsive design, semantic HTML, social media trends, and online security


  • Ability to balance short-term results with long-term vision as well as the ability to offer incremental approaches to achieve objectives


  • Ability to learn new technologies and associated terminology


  • Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with peers to complete assigned tasks



Salary Information:

$48,000 - $50,000 (commensurate with education and experience)
