Position Title:Network and Telecommunications Engineer II

Department: Technology Services

Reports To (Title): Network and Telecommunications Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Purpose: The Network & Telecommunications Engineer II is responsible for the architecture, implementation, maintenance, configuration and support of network and telecommunications systems and associated infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, routers, switches, network appliances, firewalls, mobile device MDM/MAM, Enterprise VoIP Infrastructure, data, internet and telephony circuits, and associated systems and applications.

Essential Functions: The major duties of the job that constitute the fundamental tasks and or responsibilities of the position. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

1.Architects, documents, researches and develops, tests, implements and modifies network and telecommunications technology throughout the Company.

2.Procures, maintains and supports network and telecommunications technology for all company locations including but not limited to data circuits, phone circuits, network equipment, phone equipment, fax equipment, and mobility technology.

3.Coordinates services provided by third parties (vendors). Ensures all work by vendors is performed in compliance with contractual terms and obligations including cost, quality, and timeliness.

4.Responsible for ensuring the security, performance, stability, scalability, availability and support for all network and telecommunication technology.

5. Demonstrates technical expertise and debugging skills in troubleshooting enterprise level networks and telecommunications systems.

6.Analyzes, evaluates, and reports on performance and serviceability related to equipment and vendor services.

7.Maintains and updates software for the phone system and mobile devices to meet business needs.

8.Installs network and phone cabling as needed.

9.Provides support and supervision for the day-to-day work of the Network and Telecommunication Engineer I

10.Collaborates with Support Center and other Technology Services teams to deliver superior Information Technology services to employees and customers including escalations and special projects as assigned

11.Demonstrates the standards and principles of the Five Star Bank Experience in every interaction with internal and external customers and associates. Incorporates the high-performance behaviors of teamwork, leading by example and service in every facet of work.

12.Provides off-hours maintenance and support as necessary.

Job-Related Qualifications:

Education and Prior Experience:

Required: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science related field or equivalent formal technology training with certifications

- 3+ Years Type: Administrating enterprise level network equipment, phone systems and phone and network cabling. Proven experience with Cisco IOS for Cisco Systems routers and switches, VoIP system administration, and network security.

Required: - Associate's Degree in Computer Science related field or equivalent formal technology training with certifications

- 5+ Years Type: Administrating enterprise level network equipment, phone systems and phone and network cabling. Proven experience with Cisco IOS for Cisco Systems routers and switches, VoIP system administration, and network security.

-OR-

Required:- High School Diploma or equivalent

- 10+ Years Type: Administrating enterprise level network equipment, phone systems and phone and network cabling. Proven experience with Cisco IOS for Cisco Systems routers and switches, VoIP system administration, and network security.


Preferred: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

- 4+ Years Type: Cisco Routing and Switching, Cisco ASA, Experience with ShoreTel/Mitel, Solarwinds, Palo Alto, Citrix XenMobile.


Licenses or Accreditation:

Required: Certificate

Specialty Area: Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching

Physical Requirements:

1.Able to regularly sit for prolonged periods of time

2.Able to climb and work on a ladder

3.Extensive computer usage is required

4.Occasional bending, stooping or reaching overhead

5.Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

6.Occasional travel within Corporate footprint
