Global Compliance Specialist, Data Privacy Operations at Bio-Rad Laboratories in Hercules, California

Job Description:

Bio-Rad is looking for a Global Compliance Specialist, Data Privacy Operations.

• Reports to and assists Bio-Rad Data Privacy Office Lead (is a Global Senior Corporate Compliance Manager) to provide technical, logistical and project management support for the Bio-Rad Data Privacy Program.


• Supports socialization, implementation, operation and monitoring of global data privacy initiatives involving Bio-Rad products and services, employee requirements, vendors, etc.


• Supports analysis of data needs of the organization and identification of opportunities for improvement. Assists with content development, presentations, training and other materials as needed.


• Supports Data Privacy Office, which serves as subject matter expert for data protection, privacy and security awareness for the company.


• Part of Corporate Compliance Data Privacy Office, supports other Compliance initiatives as requested.

Responsibilities

• Supports coordinating development, implementation and maintenance of organization-wide privacy and data protection policies and procedures, as required by GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, HIPAA, LGPD, applicable US federal, US state and international laws, regulations and guidance.


• Collaborates with Bio-Rad's appointed Privacy Officer and internal stakeholders such as Legal, Information Security, HR, Marketing, IT, Audit, Commercial, business units) to support and ensure compliance with the Data Privacy Program.


• Under guidance from Data Privacy Office Lead, operates the Data Protection Impact Assessment process, the Global Technical and Organizational Data Security Measures (TOMs) process, Records of Processing Activities process, vendor risk assessment process, and other privacy/data. protection assessments which are maintained in the privacy management software platform.


• Manages the Data Privacy log, and responds to privacy inquiries, identifies potential risk/violations, supports the privacy incident response process and follows up on remediation/correction actions.


• Under guidance from Data Privacy Office Lead, supports further development and conducts of data privacy training, communication and other awareness activities. Crafts Data Privacy Program communications for use in email and other platforms.


• Supports reporting to management regarding the status of the organization's privacy program and initiatives. Supports the Data Privacy and Information Security steering committee.


• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum experience of 2 years in the field of privacy, data protection, information security, risk management or other related fields, or other equivalent work experience.


• Privacy certified - CIPM/CIPP certification with International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and/or Corporate Compliance and Ethics Professional certification with Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) are strongly preferred.


• Experience in developing policies, procedures, training programs, compliance assessments and monitoring tools and techniques.


• 3+ years of project management and business analysis. Experience with Microsoft 365 is preferred.


• Experience with digital security awareness topics and best practices


• Experience working in a diverse multinational organization.


• Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Chinese, German or Spanish a plus.
