Job Description:

JOB TITLE: Senior Program Protection Analyst


PROJECT OVERVIEW:


WBB Inc. supports the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Research & Engineering (OUSD R&E). The Program Protection Analyst will be responsible for supporting the development and application of system security engineering and program protection for major defense acquisition programs in support of the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Research & Engineering (OUSD R&E).


JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Support the development and application of system security engineering, and program protection for major defense acquisition programs

  • Work with major defense acquisition programs to develop Program Protection Plans (PPP), and advise programs throughout the PPP development process

  • Support program protection activities by working with program office Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to assess program security risks, and develop risk mitigation strategies

  • Work with a team of subject matter experts in software and hardware assurance, cybersecurity and supply chain risk management to address security risks for advanced capabilities and systems

  • Analyze critical program information, critical mission functions and critical components to ensure protection for state-of-the-art technologies

  • Assist with developing OSD policy, guidance and training to implement systems security engineering and program protection initiatives


REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


Security Clearance: TopSecret



  • Active Top Secret Clearance

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree

  • Knowledge and experience in with DoD acquisition policies and system security engineering

  • Knowledge of the DoD weapon system acquisition and Systems Engineering processes defined in DoD Instruction (DoDI) 5000.02 and the Defense Acquisition Guidebook (DAG). Knowledge was obtained through a combination of formal training and job experiences related to at least one of the following domain areas: Ships and Submarines; Rotary Wing and Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS); Fixed Wing; Land Combat; C2ISR; Business Systems; Missiles and Missile Defense; Space; and Communications

  • Understanding of the DoD acquisition lifecycle, technical activities and timelines, statutory/regulatory documentation, certifications, and dependencies preferred.

  • Experience in performing system engineering functions such as translating user requirements to specifications, developing schedules, planning for technical reviews, quantifying and mitigating risks/issues, monitoring technical performance measures, and verifying requirements

  • Knowledge of the system security engineering specialties requirements and design criteria (System Engineering specialties e.g. supply chain, cybersecurity, hardware assurance, anti-tamper, software assurance, and defense exportability)

  • Knowledge of the application of DoDI 8500, 8510, NIST 800-53, and DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) activities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and writing) skills. Ability to use critical thinking to prepare written reports and presentations for senior-level officials

  • Secure knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint


DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline

  • Cyber expertise

  • Past military experience or military acquisition system experience is a plus
