Junior Credit Analyst

Duties

As the Junior Credit Analyst at Lakeland Bank, under direct supervision of the SVP, Credit Manager or indirect supervision of Credit Specialists, will receive on-the-job and formal credit training. You will occasionally accompany loan officers on customer calls and follow up with customers and accountants regarding required documentation or questions. We will guide you to fulfill job duties and achieve the necessary qualifications to become a Credit Analyst; and support our lending team with their credit underwriting needs at Lakeland Bank.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with credit underwriting efforts including industry, economic and company research, loan presentation preparation, financial statement spreads, cash flow analysis and rental economics.
• Prepare loan presentations for Lending Teams and Loan Committee as well as loan committee minutes.


• Supports loan officers with credit underwriting efforts including industry and company research, loan presentation preparation, financial statement spreads, cash flow analyses and rental economics. Understand and incorporate bank policy and federal regulations into each analysis.


• Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, ratios, commissions and percentages.


• Periodic follow-up with customers and accountants regarding required documentation or questions.


• Prepare presentations to be provided to senior management and loan committee for approval of new, renewed and modified loans.


• Take and prepare loan committee minutes as assigned.


• Manage customer data using Baker Hill software.


• Occasionally accompany loan officers on customer calls.


• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

Skills Required:

• Business degree from an accredited four-year college, with a minimum of 9 credits in accounting and finance courses.


• Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.; equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 0 to 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate information and answer questions with confidence to customers, clients, and public. Ability to communicate with all levels throughout the organization.


• Critical thinking skills. You are an independent thinker, with the ability to express an opposing opinion and ask questions in a diplomatic manner.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


• Must be bondable.
