What we're looking for:

We are looking for an experienced Cloud & Security Specialist to join our team. You will be the technical professional that will inspire and influence C-Suite and Director level contacts of our most strategic Enterprise, Corporate, and Digital Sales accounts. You will lead technical deep-dives, deliver demos, POCs, and help the America's field organization in selling and positioning emerging solutions. You will be responsible for identifying and matching technology opportunities with the customer's business issues and objectives and will craft executive-level presentations for our largest opportunities. Position Overview

The Presales Engineer Specialist (or Domain Specialist) is a Sales overlay role directly supporting Workspace and Networking field sales teams into a new and exciting security market. Domain Specialists are responsible for technical relationships with Sales, customers, and prospects, identifying and matching technology capabilities with our customers' business and security needs.

In this role, you will collaborate with Account Executives, Presales, Product Management, and Marketing to establish a shared vision with our customers and help them achieve their strategic goals. You will identify, document, and communicate the comprehensive impact that digital transformation has on an organization.

As such, you will be responsible for technical relationships with Sales, customers, and prospects, where you will identify and match technology capabilities with our customers' business and security needs. In this role, you will focus on the security aspects of our SaaS-based solutions and address customer concerns around cloud governance.

Role Responsibility


  • You will partner with sales teams in assessing potential applications of Citrix products to meet customer's business needs.


  • You will conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations remotely or at customer locations/Citrix facilities on Citrix products value proposition


  • You will build sophisticated, multi-product proof of concept solutions for customer evaluations as part of a sales engagement process.


  • You will facilitate relationships between business and technical teams, identifying business drivers and processes, providing expertise on Citrix products and the customer's technology environment.


  • You will have excellent knowledge and tried experience selling to enterprise customers. Knowledge of enterprise network security technologies including but not limited to: HTTP and web security technologies, proxies, caches, firewalls, SSL/TLS, GRE and IPsec tunneling, DNS, load balancing, WAN optimization technologies, VPN's, DLP, anti-virus, spam, and spyware solutions (Gateway and SaaS), detection of advanced threats.


  • You have a low-level understanding of auditing, legal, and data sovereignty concepts and tools used by enterprises to translate requirements and formulate valuable solutions for customers.


  • You will identify and detail specific problems with prospective and current customers which can be solved through the deployment of coordinated Workspace and Security solutions


  • You will architect and propose validated solutions and security frameworks that address the identified cybersecurity problems in each unrivaled environment


  • You will maintain a keen awareness of the competitive landscape, market trends, and security paradigms across the customer base.


  • You will work closely with Product Leadership to articulate industry trends, customer needs, and product improvement areas.


Basic Qualifications

Requirements (Education, Certification, Training, and Experience)


  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience


  • 5+ years Pre-Sales or systems engineering experience in high tech with a record of success in driving customer adoption of technology.


  • Proven knowledge of core security and auditing frameworks used by enterprises globally.


  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, as well as excellent presentation skills.


  • Good work ethic, demeanor, and follow-through ability.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in security-focused architectural requirements across public clouds including Azure, GCP and AWS


  • Deep understanding of SASE technologies and methods, understanding how Citrix solutions fit within this space.


  • Understanding of Citrix domain, competitive technologies (VMware, MobileIron, Good, F5) and how to position to "win"


  • Understanding of Desktop/Application/Server Virtualization, Enterprise Mobility Management, Networking and/or SD-WAN


  • Experience with Core Networking, Routers and Switches, Load Balancing, WAN optimization, SDWAN, GRE and IPsec tunneling


  • Web security technologies including but not limited to CASB, Access Control, Secure Web Gateway, NGFW, IDS/IPS, DLP, Malware sandboxing, Content filtering, SSL Inspection, intrusion prevention, and analytics


  • Authentication technologies including 2FA, LDAP, SAML, OIDC, FIDO2 experience desirable


  • Relevant Industry Certifications Preferred: CCIE, CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent.


  • Can quickly digest information, understand sophisticated questions, and respond in an accurate and concise manner.


  • Solid understanding of technical sales techniques and processes including the ability to understand customer needs, overcome objections, assist in the development of business cases, and technically close deals.


  • Ability to anticipate and diffuse complicated technical and political situations with partners and customers.
