Our CIO Analyst Program is a three year program with the potential for a two year extension & promotion in select cases.  The Program provides exposure to multiple pockets of a dynamic organization while creating the opportunity for success and recognition through substantial and long-term business impact.  You will work directly with senior management regularly to provide strategic solutions, innovative technical awareness and operational excellence to the business to enhance performance and efficiency.  CIO is a major strategic partner to many other departments across the enterprise and relies upon a collaborative culture to effectively create both micro and macro solutions to the most interesting challenges at Prudential.

In the Chief Investment Office, you will be awarded with a well-rounded and robust experience which allows you to make an impact in the organization, in the community and in your personal development.  You will be included in semi-annual meetings with the Chief Investment Officer and his direct reports to facilitate an ongoing dialogue across the organizational structure, communicate opportunities and challenges faced as analysts, and actively participate in structuring the future of the Investment Analyst Program.  You will participate in ongoing training workshops, be aligned with a mentor to help guide you through your early career & help facilitate networking opportunities, and partner with our Corporate Social Responsibility team to lead efforts that strengthen our communities.

Prudential’s Alternative Assets Group is a unit of the Global Chief Investment Officer organization, which conducts asset and liability management and portfolio construction for all of Prudential’s domestic and international business operations. The Alternative Assets Group is responsible for managing over $10 billion in assets, comprised of private equity and hedge funds, as well as real estate and other investments in real assets.

The Alternative Assets Group is seeking an investment professional to join its hedge fund team. The hedge fund portfolio has investments globally in hedge funds across a broad range of strategies including macro, equity long/short, relative value and event driven. The portfolio has a net asset value of approximately $4.3 billion. The position reports to the Investment Vice President within the hedge fund team. The candidate will be expected to:


  • Work closely with senior members of the investment team for monitoring and due diligence of investments in the portfolio

  • Support senior investment professionals in the creation of investment reports and memos in a timely manner

  • Create and generate analytical tools/reports to help analyze and assess hedge fund portfolios

  • Assist in delivering essential investment data, benchmarking information and peer group analysis

  • Conduct global market, industry and strategy research and be informed about current and developing sector and market trends

  • Maintain/update hedge fund information in internal databases such as Dynamo/Evestment

Qualifications:


  • Zero to two years of prior financial markets experience; asset management experience preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business curriculum, such as Finance, Economics, etc.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Bloomberg needed

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Self-motivated, innovative and proactive

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
