Strategic Initiatives Group – U.S. Business Strategy Team

Director

The U.S. Business Strategy team within the Strategic Initiatives Group supports the U.S. Businesses in several areas including:


  • Driving core U.S. Business strategy development and implementation

  • Developing external perspectives and competitive intelligence to inform strategic analyses

  • Leading cross-business/functional strategic projects

  • Delivering executive support for the USMC (US Management Council)

  • Supporting Prudential’s Chief Strategy Officer with respect to overall enterprise strategy

Major Responsibilities may include:


  • Leading workstreams in core U.S. business strategy projects as well as cross-business/functional strategic projects (scoping, sizing, problem solving)

  • Developing analysis and synthesizing insights (e.g., market, consumer, competitor) as inputs to drive near-term and longer-term U.S. business strategy  

  • Assessing strategic partnerships and M&A opportunities

  • Working directly with strategy and other teams in the U.S. businesses and functional partners on key strategic initiatives

  • Delivering timely, high-quality executive support

The Ideal Candidate will have:


  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, business development, research and/or finance roles, ideally with top-tier management consulting firms or in the strategy functions in other finance service companies

  • Strong education credentials, including an undergraduate degree, are required.  An M.B.A. or relevant graduate degree a plus

  • Strong track record of professional excellence and achievement

  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and relationship-building skills

  • Top-notch conceptual thinking, analytical, research, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent presentation skills including verbal and written communication

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and influencing skills

  • Strong project and process management skills

  • Competent writer, with expertise in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

  • Ability to summarize complex business problems and detailed analysis with clarity and brevity
