The prospective Engineering Intern will assist with various projects to support our local team, working primarily in our Buffalo, New York office. This is a temporary position, with an anticipated four-month duration.

Responsibilities of the role will include:


  • Working under the supervision of, and support from, project managers and project technical staff who have various project-related needs including, but not limited to:

    • Assist field staff in support of construction projects, construction quality assurance (CQA) observations at new and remediation construction projects, subsurface investigations, installing and monitoring geotechnical instrumentation, and environmental sampling
    • Entry, management, organization, visualization, and quality control of project data
    • Assist with preparation of project deliverables such as proposals, reports, figures, graphs, and tables
    • Assist with preparation for field events

  • Supporting administrative and general office tasks
  • Safely performing work, in the office and field. Fieldwork may occur in all seasonal weather conditions, using equipment (with an ability to lift and move approximately 50 pounds without assistance), and operating vehicles on behalf of the company.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates must currently be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in engineering with an emphasis in civil, geotechnical, environmental, or related engineering field;
  • Preferred candidates will have good verbal and written communication skills, with a positive attitude, and the ability to work both independently and in groups;
  • An active focus on health and safety for themselves and others;
  • Completion of introductory geotechnical, engineering geology, hydrology, and environmental engineering c ourses would be helpful but not required;
  • Prior Co-op or internship experience with a consulting company would also be a plus, but is not required, and will partially dictate work assignments;
  • Submittal of a cover letter with your application is appreciated;
