Job Description:

Job Summary:

Koch Foods is recruiting for a Security Officer responsible for protecting, safeguarding, and security of assets, personnel, customers, and all visitors. The Security Officer reports to the Security Supervisor and adheres to all safety guidelines, rules, regulations, and animal welfare policies at all times.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform security patrols


• Check Badges and IDs


• Protect property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and other incidents


• 
  
  • Ensure unauthorized individuals do not enter company premises  
  
  
  • Prevent workplace violence and intervene in such circumstances
  
  


• Investigate and record accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards, and other security related situations


• Provide needed assistance to visitors, vendors, customers, and employees 


• Collaborate in training efforts for newly hired officers


• Report all required incidents to security department manager or other department head


• Receive and transfer inbound calls 


• Receive and sign for FedEx and UPS packages 


• Assist applicants in application process to include: the application, interview schedules, and orientation schedules


• Release and weighs trucks 


• Monitor call-in line 


• Monitor camera footage


• Wear required uniform and follow company policies


• All other duties as assigned

Physical/Environmental Factors:

Office setting within a plant environment:

• Cold, damp, wet environment with temperatures ranging from 40 to 90 degrees


• Exposed to noise levels greater than 85 decibels


• Ability to bend, stoop, and lift various weights as needed


• Strong, raw and foul odors

• High School diploma required; technical training preferred


• No criminal record with ability to pass state and federal background check and drug screening


• Basic reading, writing, and math skills


• Poultry, manufacturing, or other related industry experience preferred


• Military, security and/or law enforcement experience preferred


• Observant of surroundings and focused at all times


• Excellent customer service skills 


• Punctual, regular attendance is required


• Ability to work occasional weekends
