Job Responsibilities This is a Senior Product Engineering position in the Electrical Systems Group (ESG) in the Supplier Development Assessment & Development (SQAD) Engineering Organization at Lam Research in Fremont, California. Lam ESG SQAD is responsible for innovation and problem-solving in Electrical Systems manufacturing, test, supplier quality, supply chain design, and material & supplier selection, development, and technology.
Apply skills and experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment to technical and quality problems encountered in the product life cycle with special attention to new product introduction
Apply Product and Systems Engineering approaches to understand and resolve problems with equipment functionality, component quality and reliability, design and application margin, and in supplier quality systems
Travel to Lam Supplier manufacturing locations to conduct situational assessments, audits, and investigations, applying learnings to systematic and lasting product and process improvements
Apply experience with Industrial Quality Systems, Engineering Design & Documentation, Product Qualification, Change (EC) Processes, and Problem Solving to issues occurring in product and component life cycles
Act as a Project Manager with emphasis on problem-solving and improvements in supplier manufacturing and test processes. Define, review, and improve Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA), Quality Systems and Processes of Record (POR) at ESG suppliers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Masters preferred
10 years of experience in the following areas:
Semiconductor equipment system and component knowledge
Ability to troubleshoot issues arising from incorrectly wired, grounded, or shielded harnesses
Ability to analyze schematic functionality of: Power Supplies, PCBAs, and computer peripherals
Working Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing, inspection and test processes
Product and component life cycle management: Specification, Manufacture, Assembly, Test/Inspection, and Sustaining
Trained in using structured problem-solving methodology
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for purposes of teaching, investigating, and influencing team members and stakeholders up to and including internal and external executives
Electrical measurement equipment familiarity, including: DMM, LCR, & Milli-ohm Meters, Hi-Pot/Ground Bond Testers, Function Generators and VDV Cable Testers
Working knowledge of electrical & mfg standards (Semi S2, OSHA, ISO9000/14000, RoHS, UL, IEEE, MIL, IPC 610/602)
