TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Regional Director - Human Resources in Seattle, WA

Responsible for driving the success of the human resources department by providing strategic, top-end employee lifecycle support to regional business partners that translate into business strategies into sustainable human resources practices that contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Drives and supports a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization in all lines of business. Includes acting as the face of safety and compliance to all employees; and strategically leading programs involving safety and compliance training, safety audits and accident prevention.

  • Leads a team of upper level managers within the region with an emphasis on empowerment and the growth of the service business via all methods available: construction, modernization and repair. Includes nurturing an organizational culture that challenges others to generate breakthrough Ideas and take well-reasoned risks.

  • Improves business practices for higher level performance levels by introducing improvements based on fact-based analysis and benchmarking; and examining alternatives which include evaluating costs, risks and benefits for the region.

  • Strategically reviews P&L and other financial reports to evaluate district and branch performance to ensure monthly budgetary targets are met or exceeded

  • Builds relationships and communicates with customers and consultants to ensure they receive a consistent level of service throughout the region and nationwide. Includes working with management to ensure a level of customer service that is differentiated from the competition; and developing a unified approach to serving external and internal customers, and communicating a consistent message and brand.

  • Analyzes and defines a multi-year market-based strategy for the region. Includes articulating evolving priorities for the business within a 3-5 year period; participating on corporate panels; asking questions which open up new ways of seeing the business; and translating corporate strategy into a business strategy for the region

  • Creates insights about the marketplace by identifying the interrelationships among the company's services and the customer, and how they contrast with the competition in relationship to the changing marketplace

  • Maintains strong familiarity of company products by attending company training classes, and reviewing factory equipment updates and supplier goods

  • Builds the regional team capabilities by evaluating candidates and employees thoroughly and by sound measures, providing time to develop, and then restructuring or replacing as necessary to build and improve the region's talent and capability

  • Partners with other regional presidents and USFO to ensure alignment on all goals and initiatives. Includes actively seeking colleagues' and stakeholders' input in decision-making, especially those with different opinions

  • Strategically reviews sales incentive and bonus programs. Includes approving graded position incentives.

  • Ensures that the region utilizes performance management techniques to evaluate employee performance

What we look for

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, Master's in Business Administration or related field a plus.

  • Requires 10 to 15 years of experience in upper level management in the elevator industry.

  • Must have managed diverse groups in a matrix organizational design.

  • Must be very well organized, have a high energy level, strong work ethic, acute attention to detail and be very process oriented.

  • Must be motivated, goal oriented and proactive.

  • Ability to identify, own, understand, supervise and delegate to ensure accurate completion under strict timelines with minimal guidance; ability to react well under pressure and willing to accept responsibility.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; must be able to address business challenges and provide solutions.

  • Must be team oriented and have the ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work and collaborate with employees and customers within and outside the regional office.
