If you are an Accounting & Finance professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Kennesaw, GA location, you will be responsible for all general accounting of the company including financial statements, general ledger, federal and state taxes, internal and external reporting, internal controls, safeguarding of company assets, and managing staff accountants. AS A MANAGER - GENERAL ACCOUNTING, YOU WILL: 


  • Supervise and mentor team of General Ledger Accountants and Payroll Accountant
  • Analyze and prepare monthly financial statements
  • Prepare and analyze quarterly/yearly federal and state tax provision
  • Prepare and review necessary monthly/quarterly/yearly journal entries
  • Analyze and prepare CAR report (Cost Accounting of Inventory)
  • Analyze and prepare monthly reconciliations
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions
  • Skilled knowledge of new revenue recognition and lease accounting standards
  • Proactively develop and assist in implementation of financial initiatives 
  • Ensure compliance with all GAAP, federal and state laws pertaining to the operations of the business
  • Prepare yearly budgets and forecast
  • Maintain departmental and combined forecast
  • Effectively communicate with appropriate business units and personnel, including corporate office
  • Review monthly bank reconciliations, fixed asset reconciliations, and various other reconciliations
  • Process payroll as backup for Payroll Accountant

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • BS or BA in Accounting and five (5+) years of relevant accounting experience
  • Minimum of four to five (4-5) years in Management 
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local taxes, and working knowledge of Nexus
  • Prior payroll processing experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel including Macros, Power Pivot, and Data Models
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Legal work authroization in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
