Working under the direction of Production management, the team lead sets up and operates a variety of production machines used in the production of the company's products. Checks and inspects operation against predetermined tolerances. Performs basic maintenance on the production machines and troubleshoots as required. Follows procedures established for safety, quality and production standards. Works from process sheets or written/verbal instructions given by supervisor to perform production tasks. Instructs machine operators on meeting production needs along with keeping inventory and quality inspections. Will not discipline of write reviews of coworkers.



Essential Job Functions (includes but is not limited to):



  • Setting up and operating a variety of automatic and semi-automatic machines used in the production of the Company's product.

  • Ensure that all machinery is operational.

  • Perform daily cleaning of equipment and surrounding areas.

  • Requires the ability to use specialized equipment.

  • Keep scrap levels to a minimum.

  • Maintain a high level of card quality, to include but not limited to inspection for water spots, ink smudges, proper color application, and dents.

  • Ensure that the "zero gap" process is performed in the manner spelled out by the procedures.

  • Interfacing with the customer in a professional manner, either by telephone or delivery.


Note: In addition to the Essential Functions, also performs similar work-related duties as assigned.






Required Skills



  • Be able to work constructively with little supervision.

  • Must be able to work on assignments that are moderately complex.

  • Must be able to use a moderate amount of judgment required to perform assigned task.

  • Able to learn and retain the operation of all equipment in the facility.

  • Must be familiar with standard Microsoft Windows computer operation.

  • Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.

  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions that can be very detailed in nature.

  • Dependable / reliable.

  • Must be able to function in a small group.

  • Able to escalate issues in a timely manner.






Required Experience



  • 2 to 4 years of production experience in a high volume continuous operating facility.

  • 1-2 years of experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with production machinery (setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance).

  • Experience working in team-oriented environment.

  • Experience training new employees on machinery.



Travel Requirement, Working Conditions and Physical Demands:


Travel Requirements, such as:



  • Generally not required, but, must have ability to travel locally for activities such as meetings, classes, and workshops


Working Conditions, such as:



  • Production environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

  • Work at a fast pace on processes that require high attention to detail.

  • Exposure to loud noises and equipment that is both automated and semi-automated.

  • Operators are expected to follow employee safety standards.


Physical Demands, such as:



  • Prolonged periods working on feet and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.

  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect product produced.

  • Requires manual dexterity and ability to manipulate small objects. May require normal range of hearing and vision to operate machinery.

  • The work requires light physical effort with frequent lifting and/or moving of materials in the 10-30 pound range and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
