Job Description:

Fulfilment Production Supervisor- 2nd Shift 4pm-12:30am


This position works at our contract packaging facility, which services a variety of customers with package assembly, kitting, light industrial assembly and blister or clamshell packaging. This position is responsible for fulfilling work orders through the management of materials, personnel and equipment using company policies and procedures to meet established performance goals.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Management/Operations


* Reviews daily production schedule for the department to plan work and personnel assignments for all shifts and clearly delegates both routine and important tasks and decisions to others in the department


* Utilizes knowledge of motion and time study, line balancing, run rate analysis, work flow and material flow optimization to quote and predict run rates on upcoming programs and jobs


* Uses this same knowledge to teach, assign and monitor assembly lines to ensure peak optimization and assigns personnel to production lines to gain best line efficiencies and make necessary adjustments


* Keeps stakeholders informed of schedules


* Troubleshoot and communicate delays


* Maintains good housekeeping and follows all safety policies in the department


* Works with other departments in the organization as needed


* Responsible for the best use of inventory and assists in maintaining accuracy for all levels of inventory; on-hand, WIP, quarantined products and finished goods


* Responsible for ensuring ISO and Lean Manufacturing principles introduced and utilized


* Responsible for performing the duties of the Operations Manager or Fulfillment Leads as needed (to backfill vacancies, vacations, leave of absences, regular absences/call offs, developmental assistance, etc.) on any shift necessary


* Other duties as assigned


People


* Supervises and develops assigned personnel, fostering teamwork to meet department objectives and established performance goals


* Develops and mentors shift leads to promote a safe working environment; to achieve run rates and to reduce scrap rates, while effectively utilizing people and equipment


* Responsible for hiring, attendance records, performance reviews, development plans and first level employee relations


* Responsible for maintaining an open door and communicating regularly with employees



Supervisory Responsibilities: none yes (production personnel)

Qualifications:


General:


* Must have strong personal leadership and communication abilities


* Must possess excellent attention to detail, problem solving and follow-up with a strong sense of urgency and time management skills


* Understands line balancing, run rate quotas, material flow efficiencies, inventory management



Education and/or Experience:


* High school diploma required; some college (business, mechanical technology or related field) preferred


* One to two years of related experience and/or training


* Three or more years of supervisory experience


* Warehouse/logistics experience preferred



Language Skills:


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The Lead Production Supervisor must have ability to write routine reports and correspondence and must have the ability to speak effectively before groups. Ability to speak and understand Spanish is preferred.



Mathematical Skills:


The position must be capable of performing addition, subtraction, multiplication and division calculations.



Reasoning Ability:


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Position requires the ability to deal with problems involving several variables in multiple types of situations.



Computer Skills:


To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and be willing to complete additional training.
