Essential Duties:
- Handle phone calls
- Provide support for walk-in customers experiencing issues/questions while attempting to collect/deliver cargo
- Provide a line of communication and support to SSLs, civilians, freight forwarders/brokers, and trucking companies
- Prepare quotations via email, upon inquiry
- Oversee and support clerk to ensure accurate customs documentation procedure, including DW notations
- Receive, review, approve, and log QuickPass Priority Appointment requests
- Assist Terminal Services Manager with terminal and vendor billing, as needed
- Ensure effective telephone and email communications both internally and externally to maintain a professional image
- Recommends and implements best practice process and procedures in all areas associated with customers
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience, Certifications):
- Associates degree in Marine Operations, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- 2+ years of experience in an office environment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook skills
- Knowledge and basic understanding of the terminal operations
- A basic understanding of accounting principles is essential including billing
- Requires a high level of planning and organizational skills, with high attention to detail
- Requires exceptional time management, due to fast-moving, demanding work environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Effective customer service skills
- Motivated and flexible team player
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with exposure to terminal with moving objects and machinery
- The environment may be hazardous to persons unable to see or hear fast moving heavy equipment
- Ability to lift approximately 15-20 lbs.
- Able to travel to PA Sites in the NJ area.
