Manager, Core Lab (Galveston): This position develops, directs and manages the Core Laboratory to effectively meet departmental and institutional objectives, providing administrative and technical skills necessary to operate a major patient service division.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or an appropriately related field, from a regionally accredited college/university.


• MT/MLS certification by American Society for Clinical Pathology ASCP.


• Master's in laboratory field or Business preferred


• Five years of full time acceptable clinical laboratory experience in the U.S., Canada or a CAP/The Joint Commission accredited laboratory.

Medical Lab Scientist: (Blood Bank, Galveston; Quality, Galveston; Generalist, Angleton 1p to 9p; Generalist, Angleton Nights; Generalist, Angleton up to 19 hours/week)

JOB SUMMARY:

Medical Laboratory Scientist, Laboratory Services provides technical skills necessary to perform and report moderate or highly complex laboratory tests within a division of the clinical laboratory.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in a Clinical Laboratory Science or Basic Science.No experience required. Must obtain certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologists (AMT), American Board of Histocompatibility or Immunogenetics (ABHI) or equivalent certification as appropriate, within 12 months of hire. Qualifies as Testing Personnel for high complexity testing under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA).

Sr Medical Lab Scientist: (Chemistry, Galveston; Generalist with Blood Banking, Angleton)

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in a Clinical Laboratory Science or Basic Science with two (2) years related experience. Technologist level certification from either the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Board of Medical Technology (AMT), or equivalent certification. Qualifies as Testing Personnel for high complexity testing under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA).

Medical Lab Technologist, Angleton - up to 19 hours/week

JOB SUMMARY:

Medical Laboratory Technologist, Laboratory Services provides technical skills necessary in performing laboratory procedures.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in a Clinical Laboratory Science or Basic Science. Qualifies as Testing Personnel for high complexity testing under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA). No experience required.

Lab Assistant: (Clear Lake -24 hrs/week, weekends; Outreach Lab, Galveston - up to 19 hours/week; Surg Path, Galveston - up to 19 hours/week)

Job Description:

Laboratory Assistant, Laboratory Services provides technical skills necessary to perform sample processing within the division and may perform essential phlebotomy duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent and two (2) years related experience.

Histology Technician, Galveston

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Histology Technician, Laboratory Services provides technical skills in the preparation of tissue specimens to provide diagnosis.

Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree or equivalent and no experience required.

Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in Histology (HT) or obtain certification within 12 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

CurrentASCP certified for HT or HTL

Cytotechnologist, Galveston

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Cytotechnologist provides clinical diagnostic study of cells for the purpose of recognizing and classifying malignant and benign inflammatory and irritative conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field, and certification as a Cytotechnologist by an approved accrediting agency required, and no experience required.
