We are seeking a Transportation Coordinator to:

• Coordinate all Driver’s duties including scheduling, timesheets, route updates and may act as substitute in case of absences that affects the ability to make deliveries and pick up medical equipment or when extra help is needed for projects.


• Depending the needs of the department. Hours could mean weekends and 2nd or 3rd shift and Holidays.


• Coordinate the retrievals and deliveries of patients’ cars from several UW Health locations.  


• Provide office coverage in the absence of the Transportation Supervisor.  

Education:

Minimum – High School diploma or equivalent

Work Experience:

Minimum – One (1) year previous driving, dispatch, or related experience

Preferred – Three (3) years previous driving, dispatch, or related experience

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum – Valid Wisconsin driver’s license

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Must be 21 years of age to drive a UW Health Fleet Vehicle.


• Ability to be insured and bonded by UW Health’s Risk Management insurer which. requires (1) a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and (2) successfully passing a driver’s background check.


• Ability to work independently and as a team member.


• Ability to plan, schedule and independently coordinate activities.


• Knowledge of transportation routes.


• Knowledge of office procedures.


• Possess a thorough knowledge of traffic regulations.


• Possess a thorough knowledge of safety precautions to be followed while operating a motor vehicle.


• Knowledge of safe lifting methods.


• Ability to operate a vehicle efficiently and safely.


• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Physical Requirements:

Heavy: Ability to lift up to 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Schedule:

This position is 100% FTE, or scheduled 40 hours per week.  This position is to be scheduled Monday - Friday, with 8 to 10 hour shifts that may cross over all shifts, including weekends and holidays.  Hours will vary depending on the needs of the department.
