At Garmin, we create products that solve complex problems and make people’s lives safer, healthier and more enjoyable. Our Garmin Pay Office in Boulder, CO is looking for a full-time experienced Senior Software Engineer to develop embedded software, specifically for enabling the Garmin Pay feature on Garmin's wearable devices.  May also perform as Lead Software Engineer for small projects or sub projects.  Learn more about Gamin Pay here.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Serves in a leadership capacity for carrying out software development in embedded C

  • Develop software related to contactless payments on wearables devices

  • Collaborate with product teams to integrate Garmin Pay functionality into products

  • Participate in peer code-review

  • Provide support for Garmin Pay enabled devices

  • Decomposes functional requirements into well defined tasks

  • Participates in project leadership and/or program planning including providing technical input to product development plans and concept documents

  • Mentors and/or supervises to less experienced Software Engineers (1 & 2) 

  • Independently determines general approach and specific solutions to technical problems 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math or Physics or another relevant engineering/technical field AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience


  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)

  • Proficiency in writing software in C for embedded processors

  • Demonstrate creative problem solving techniques

  • Work well within a team environment

  • Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multi-meters, and debugging hardware for testing and validating embedded systems

  • Demonstrates proficiency with designing well architectured software systems and modules that support new technology or improve capability/performance of existing functionality 

  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a lead software engineer for a complex software project
