As a High Performance Control Room Engineer, you will be a part of the Emerson Power & Water Solutions team based in our Pittsburgh, PA location. You will be responsible to work with Power & Water Solutions customers in the Power and Water/Waste Water industries to develop High Performance HMI graphics and advanced alarm management strategies.
 
AS A HIGH PERFORMANCE CONTROL ROOM ENGINEER, YOU WILL: 


  • Redesign of existing graphics to conform with industry standards for an HP HMI

  • Conduct workshops with plant operating staff to facilitate graphic redesign

  • Continuous engagement with customers and global  PWS graphic developers/project engineers

  • Application of advanced alarm rate mitigation strategies including the development of advanced cutout logic

  • Modifications to existing control application software to support HP HMI graphics

  • Analysis of alarm management system performance

  • Development and Maintenance of HP HMI graphic standards

  • You readily distinguish between what’s relevant and what’s unimportant to make sense of complex situations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • A Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent 

  • A minimum of 7 years proven experience


  • Strong understanding of process systems such as steam, boiler, turbine, combined cycle, pollution control, water treatment, waste water or previous experience with HP HMI development and alarm management 

  • Up to 25% travel

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Strong technical writing skills

  • Familiarity with advanced statistical analysis  


  • Ability to host/run presentations and fast-paced situations
