Egg Room/QC at Koch Foods in Dalton, Georgia

Job Description:

In 1985, Koch Foods started as a one-room chicken de-boning and cutting operation with 13 employees. We’ve grown to be one of the top poultry processors in the U.S., but the core of who we are remains unchanged: a team that is adept, reliable and service oriented.

Egg Room Quality Control members are responsible for creating egg sets, marking egg buggies, candling eggs, weighing chicks and creating reports. 

Hours:

Monday 2:00 am - 11:30 am

Tuesday 2:00 am - 1:00 pm

Thursday 2:00 am - 11:30 am

Friday 2:00 am - 1:00 pm

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Adhere to Company, Safety, and Animal Welfare policies and procedures

  • Work cooperatively with team members

  • Maintain proper handling for bird safety

  • Follow cleaning procedures

  • All other relevant duties as assigned

Physical/Environmental Factors:


  • Walk and stand majority of work shift

  • Frequently stoop, kneel, crawl and bend

  • Frequently climb stairs and ladders

  • Lift and carry 50+ lbs

  • Work in confined spaces

  • Loud environment requiring ear protection

  • Exposure to significant amount of airborne dust and feathers (i.e. chick fluff, shells, feces, contaminated eggs, blood, odor, yolks, etc.)

  • Exposure to chicken manure and associated odors, including ammonia

  • Humid and damp environment

  • High School Diploma preferred

  • Previous hatchery experience preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions

  • Work cooperatively within a team environment

  • Able to work assigned hours/days, including occasional weekends as required

  • Ability to lift 4+ lbs, and push 75+ lbs
