Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Intern for Environmental, Health & Safety will participate in a variety of projects. The Intern will assist in all the daily activities associated with the requirements of the EHS Department. The Intern will participate in training, tracking trends, investigate accidents and incidents, conduct safety audits, and recommend process improvements.  Other tasks may include employee engagement opportunities such as the annual Safety Day Event. They will also work on cross-departmental projects, manage time effectively, lead Safety Committee meetings and prepare for safety audits.  

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Prepare and be engaged with learning EHS strategies for teaching and coaching employees on Best Safety Practices.


• Research and track trends and learn how to investigate accidents and incident while recommending any corrective actions needed or required.


• Support the preparation of the upcoming ISO 45001 Safety Audit and be involved with the audit.


• Assist and support the efforts required in preparation of the annual Safety Day Event.


• Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to self-review work while recognizing discrepancies


• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the use of spreadsheets, etc. and other Microsoft Office Suite products, including Word and PowerPoint

Experience:

• 0–1 year of related Occupational Safety, Health or other related scientific disciplines

Education:

• A current sophomore, junior or senior level student in an undergraduate or graduate program pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree Occupational Safety, Health, or other related scientific disciplines
