Job Description: Member of Can Plant Team that manufactures pet food. Under supervision, operates batching processing methods and machines: Runs automated and manual batching process, manual ingredient inclusions, and communicate with machine operators and manual ingredient add leads. Batching product within specified formulations and run rates, watching for best operation. Interacts closely with other processing and packaging operators, maintenance and quality technicians to control and improve production processes.
Skills and requirements:
Set up and run automated batching system.
Understand and run recipe details in batching program.
Assist operator and work as team at all times.
Perform quality checks.
Run and operate batching computer.
Verify final moisture levels.
Maintain correct wash outs and general cleanliness of area.
Maintain Steam On to Retort Time.
Previous experience in manufacturing, quality control and collaborative work team environments a plus.
High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Basic math, reading and good work ethic needed.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to stand for prolonged periods of time, climb stairs, climb ladders and walk plant floors that could exceed one mile of travel per day.
The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, computer equipment and peripherals; and bending, reaching, and crouching.
Must have command of all five senses, sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from computer screens to close forms.
Strength: Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds with regularity.
Must be able to understand and follow work instructions in English
