If you are LABORATORY TECHNICIAN looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our FLORHAM PARK, NJ you will Conduct Laboratory test using established laboratory procedures as well as developing special test setup based on current laboratory procedures. This person should have good knowledge of the testing methods and testing requirements for ASCO products as well as the capability to adapt other testing requirements with help from Lab Engineer or Lab Manager. This individual should be self-directed person, with the ability to perform proper tests, check results, and generate clear comprehensive test reports. AS A LABRATORY TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL:
Build and test prototype solenoid valves for unique applications. Provide test reports to quantify performance variables. Search & obtain product information, assembly procedures, and test procedures through Engineering intranet and available IT tools. Use detail drawings, sketches, or markups to build, test, & troubleshoot prototype valves.
Conduct formal testing on new products using established procedures & new product specific procedures. Provide concise technical reports to identify performance variable. Review test results with engineer and makes design recommendations. Help create and follow Qualification Test Plans (QTP), setup and perform Qualification Tests.
Perform mechanical & electrical measurements such as stroke, orifice size, spring force, voltage, current, wattage & timing. Basic knowledge of Oscilloscope operation is essential. Use lab test position and equipment to perform test such as pressure rating, functional, leakage, flow, and product life evaluation
Help troubleshoot sustaining engineering related design issues
Manage assigned tasks according to project or job time requirements.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Two years college mechanical/electrical AAS degree or equivalent industrial experience.
