Position Summary

This position is the lead finance role supporting the Global Procurement Organization and reports to the Associate Finance Director – Global Procurement. The procurement organization manages $13 billion in global purchases for K-C and plays a key role in driving cost transformation for K-C.
 

The incumbent in this role will serve as a key thought leader, business partner and strategic advisor to the Vice President of Global Procurement.  This role supports the global procurement organization with required analytics in understanding the external commodity environment and delivering procurement cost savings and working capital savings. This role is a key point of contact for procurement senior directors, global and regional procurement category managers and BU, corporate FP&A teams.  Financial modeling and the ability to influence senior leaders is essential.
 

This position is directly responsible for partnering with key project leaders across the global procurement and supply chain teams to develop and execute plans that drive improved profitability for the enterprise.

Business Partners and Expectations:

The position reports directly to the Associate Finance Director – Global Procurement.  Key Business Partners include the Chief Supply Chain Officer, the VP of Global Procurement, Regional Procurement Leaders and Regional Supply Chain Leaders.  These customers have diverse expectations and requirements for financial analysis and insights that are timely, accurate, insightful, and actionable.  This role requires a strong understanding of end to end supply chain dynamics and global business operations. Candidates must have the ability and credibility to establish a strong network with other BU Finance leads and business leaders and influence them to implement standard approaches that will accelerate global supply chain integration.

Principal Accountabilities:


  • Partner with the VP of Procurement and regional resources to advance the Global Supply Chain agenda, leveraging standard practices and processes to drive end-to-end supply chain integration.

  • Actively participate in the development and execution of Procurement capabilities, business strategies and results delivery. Shape, coordinate, and drive delivery of global projects/initiatives as required by the Vice President of Procurement and his/her deputies.

  • Lead and own the Procurement cost savings pipeline, identifying value creation opportunities and driving them to execution.

  • Work directly with Commodity Managers to develop global commodity forecasts and present to Senior Leaders, including Regional Presidents and Senior Finance Leaders.

  • Provide a source of business knowledge and problem-solving capabilities to assure sound analyses, recommendations, and actionable programs across a wide range of business or financial problems. 

  • Work closely with the Procurement Commodity Managers to analyze opportunities and influence contracts that drive competitive advantage for K-C. 

  • As a member of the Global Supply Chain Finance organization, participate and drive initiatives that advance the function and elevate the impact on K-C business results. 

  • Drive process improvements designed to increase efficiency within the function and across K-C. Enhance the position by thoroughly reviewing all activities performed to improve the quality and productivity of services provided. 

  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality performance through personal example by adopting a customer-based approach to business support. In addition, demonstration of Kimberly-Clark’s leadership behaviors (build trust, make decisions, win consistently, think customer, continuously improve, and build talent) is essential.

  • Establish, maintain, and execute financial processes that provide timely, accurate and meaningful data to function and business management to continually improve ROI. Provide ongoing budget and spending control oversight to the GSC team.

  • Ensure application of efficient financial and operating controls supporting K-C’s requirement for an effective control environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).

  • 6 to 10 years of experience in operations, supply chain and business analytics.

  • Experience working in a global/matrix environment is beneficial.

  • A broad understanding of economics, finance, business management and the inter-relationships among these disciplines.  

  • Well-versed in the principles and practices of finance and accounting to ensure that procedures and practices are in conformance with corporate accounting and financial control policies and instructions. 

  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills to deliver effective, confident, and results-oriented communications and presentations.

  • The ability to influence without authority, drive business outcomes, leverage business systems and apply functional/technical skills.
