Consultant, Enterprise Change Management at Northern Trust in Chicago, Illinois

Job Description:


The Enterprise Change Management function develops and executes solutions focused on the people side of change to ensure organizational readiness, acceptance, and adoption of change initiatives. This function helps enable faster adoption and greater utilization of new processes, systems and organizational structures, and reinforce Northern Trust's organizational behaviors. Under general supervision (but works independently most of the time) is responsible for small to medium sized projects. This role also provides support to large scale change initiatives as part of the business transformation efforts to drive specific strategic and financial objectives and assists with the development and expansion of our Center of Excellence (COE). This includes facilitation of change workshops to build change capabilities across the organization.

Responsibilities

•Provide hands-on support to apply change management methods including: stakeholder analysis / impact assessment, sponsorship/leadership alignment, communication planning & development, partner engagement & readiness and resistance management

•Work with project leads to apply a structured change management approach and methodology (Prosci) for the people side change for assigned initiatives

•Understand the program/project and related change management issues by identifying key stakeholders and how they will be impacted by the change

•Identify potential people-side risks and anticipated points of resistance, and work with senior team members to develop specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns

•Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress to track adoption, utilization and proficiency related to changes

•Work with the program team / PMO to provide ongoing status updates on the progress of the change management workstream

•Coordinate efforts with other specialists - including communications specialists, training specialists, and human resource consultants during implementation

•Contribute to the development of standard change management methods / tools and related training

•Support development / facilitation of local change networks





Knowledge and Skills

•Working knowledge of Change Management methodology and tools

•Experience working in a project-based environment and understanding of how change activities are integrated with the overarching project lifecycle

•Excellent communication (verbal and written) and active listening skills

•Interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence and build support at all levels in the organization

•Problem solving and root cause identification skills

•Ability to work with a limited amount of day-to-day guidance

•Comfortable in a collaborative team environment

•Strong organizational and analytical skills

•Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications as well as SharePoint development and site ownership

•Ability to develop surveys and analyze/presents key findings

•Experience with Adobe Suite and Vyond video development a plus

Experience

•College or university degree

•5+ years of experience in Corporate Communications, Change Management, Organizational Development, Training or related field preferred

•Prosci Change Management Certification, a plus

•Financial Services industry experience, a plus
