Job Description:

Primary Purpose

To work closely with programming to identify programming opportunities by evaluating potential acquisitions and schedule changes; assists the marketing staff with target audience development and promotional strategies; and creating audience estimates used in business planning and ad sales rate cards.

Key Activities

• Identify and report potential acquisitions and schedule changes.


• Asist with target audient development strategies.


• Create audience estimates using in business planning and ad sales rate cards.


• May attend programming and research meetings and offer input on programming ideas.


• May perform competitive analysis for new programs on competing networks.


• May assist with training/teaching employees new systems and basic analyses.

Skills

Education & Experience/Certifications

• Preferred BA/BS degree in Math, Computer Science, Engineering, or another related quantitative field.


• Experience in data/analytics or related field


• Minimum of 6 years linear TV research experience.


• Experience using Nielsen national TV audience data.NNTV, National TV Toolbox, Audience Watch, Lake 5, etc.)


• Experience creating audience estimates/forecasts.


• Familiar with additional syndicated data sources such as MRI, Catalina, Kantar, and others.


• Expertise with relevant software tools (e.g. some combination of MultiTrak, StarEstimator.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong skills with MS Office (esp. Excel and PowerPoint)


• Background in statistics and/or research methodology derived from college-level coursework highly desired


• Primary research experience (including but not limited to program testing, creative testing, awareness tracking, and qualitative) is helpful


• Ability to provide support for the programming and marketing functions of at least one national TV network (cable or broadcast).  


• Being a self-starter, deeply curious, exceptionally organized, and proactive.


• Strong attention to detail,


• Robust consumer insights and storytelling abilities


• Able to effectively communicate research findings in a variety of formats (i.e. email, written reports, one-on-one discussions, formal presentations).


• Exceptional collaboration skills.


• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment; can adapt to changing priorities.


• Statistical knowledge.
