Position Overview

Boart Longyear is seeking a new, entry level, Accountant / Financial Analyst to be a key player on the AR/Cash Team within the Salt Lake City Shared Service Center supporting operations globally. This Accounting role is part of a team responsible for the timely and accurate application of incoming cash, reconciliation of all bank accounts across our Shared Service portfolio and partners with the Treasury, Credit and Accounts Payable functions to ensure adequate control and management of cash.

Essential Job Functions and Duties

• Responsible for the accounting accuracy for a portfolio of bank accounts and corresponding general ledger accounts




• Develop and maintain relationships with local in-country accounting teams, treasury, credit, and accounts payable functions to ensure communication channels enable timely accounting




• Ensure daily and monthly reconciliation of bank accounts




• Provide analysis of accounts to support monthly reporting, including variance analysis




• Provide support for internal and external audits




• Coordinate and assist in quarterly and annual reporting requirements




• Other responsibilities as delegated

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, required




• One to three years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in a multi-regional organization




• Demonstrated ability to communicate well, both written and verbally, and to work with others across the organization to accomplish the objectives of the role and team




• Strong attention to detail is needed to ensure controls are operating effectively and all accounts are reconciled on-time each month




• Experience working under monthly accounting close timetable and ability to prioritize to meet deadlines




• Ownership mentality and drive to learn




• Not comfortable with status quo and driven to constantly improve process efficiency and control effectiveness




• Oracle R12 experience a plus




• Working knowledge of Excel, including use of pivot tables, v-lookups and some advanced functions where necessary




• Fluency with the Spanish language a plus, but not required
